Armed with Curiosity: Interview with Make’s Gareth Branwyn

Makers, hackers, tinkerers, DIYers tend to be relentlessly curious about the world and figuring out how it’s put together. Also, I believe that most scientists, engineers, and inventors–the exceptional ones, anyway–are also part poet/artist. As well-known “gonzo engineer” Steven Roberts says: “Art without engineering is dreaming. Engineering without art is calculating.” I think there are increasing numbers of people who are exploring the margin between these two, and that’s very exciting.

Good interview with one of the really good guys I get to work with. Smart, funny, subversive. Plus he’s got a big partially artificial heart.
